October 2012-- Dale Chihuly Glass Exhibit & Installation at VMFA

For weeks there has been extraordinary activity and preparation at the VMFA in anticipation of the Dale Chihuly Glass Exhibit which begins October 20, 2012. Leading up to the opening of the exhibit, the museum has installed Chihuly's scarlet glass reeds in the lily pond outside the museum. The glass reeds look glorious -- especially as the light changes throughout the day. People can enjoy them whether they are eating a leisurely lunch in Amuse or Best Cafe or strolling along the museum walks. The exhibit will attract many visitors -- the VMFA is only the third museum to have a Chihuly exhibit. We are thrilled. As a destination, people will not only get to see the exhibit but Richmond dressed in its most beautiful fall colors!
