Italy, 1969
The Valentine Typewriter was offered in retail stores on February 14, 1969 and became an instant Pop icon. The use of bright red for a normally drab office tool was a cheery departure but of intentional design of Sottsass's Memphis Group Design Collective. The portable typewriter is useful, its ribbon works, the keys don't stick and it is spare and easily tucked away in its case. It can also be used as a visual sculpture of modern design. Very good original condition.
