USA, 1920s
An early optical tool which is still being manufactured, this Hartl
Optical Disc instrument was used to demonstrate laws of reflection and refraction in optics, including the reflecting of angles of mirrors, the diffusion of light and the refraction through different lenses. Sphere is generated by turning a handle. Sphere sits on an iron three-legged base. An oddly interesting and curious artifact. Manufactured by
Central Scientific Company, Chicago. Very good vintage condition.
