Persian Hand Painted Miniature

Iran, 1940s

Exquisite hand painted miniature on ivory shows a romantic couple strolling through an idyllic landscape, framed by a tree full of blue blossoms. As the couple stroll, the woman plays the lyre and the man holds a cup of wine. Painting is signed in Persian in bottom left corner. Frame is hand made in a pattern of geometric stars in wood, gold and bone. Charming. Very good original condition.
