Mexico, 1950s
Hand made set consists of tray, sugar pot & lid, creamer, three dishes and three cups. These studio ceramics are copies of a set excavated at the Monte Alban archeological site dating to as early as 3000 BC. Each design is done in grabado or engraved into the ceramic. The green of the ceramics and the design is one favored by the
Zapotec Culture which occupied the area from 500 BC-800 AD. Set is charming and in excellent condition for hot chocolate or expresso coffee.
